In order to hopefully increase the crowds at the Madejski Stadium to give Reading that extra boost required for some key games coming up free membership is being offered to all Reading fans.

Usually if you want to attend a Premiership match at the Madejski you have to have a membership card, which costs adults £10 and concessions £3. However, should you attend the Wigan match on the 22nd September or the Derby match on the 7th October you will be given this membership for free.

Chairman John Madejski explained on readingfc.co.uk, “These next two home games against Wigan and Derby are extremely important for the team.

“The players will be going all out to gain maximum points from the two fixtures to push our way up the table, and it would help them immensely if they are cheered on by a capacity crowd.

“The Club has always been conscious of the need to attract new supporters as well as welcoming back long-term fans, so hopefully this offer of free membership will achieve just that.”

This is an excellent idea to try and bring maximum support to Reading at a time when it is needed.

Sunderland on Saturday away, and then Wigan and Derby are all three almost must win games, which if they are the whole outlook on how the season is going could change.
