On the back of four wins in a row, the Royals head North to face play off hopefuls Blackpool. A full match preview is here….

Vital Quotes:

On loan defender Zurab Khizanishvili –

“I think we need to keep on winning games to get into mid-table as everyone is so close in the league table, nothing is impossible right now. Blackpool again will be a massive game and we`re getting better so we`re all looking forward to keeping up our winning streak if possible. Nobody is thinking about relegation and we`re all looking up the league table. Blackpool isn`t too far from Blackburn and I know the team and some of the players.’

Blackpool Team News:

Rob Edwards is suspended for the home side after his red card against Middlesbrough on Tuesday night. Neil Eardly, Billy Clarke, Daniel Nardiello and long serving Danny Coid are all still sidelined and won’t be involved on Saturday.

Player to watch: Charlie Adam

The former Rangers man has been Blackpool’s key man so far this season, underlined by a reent slump while he was suspended. He is back in the side now though and keen to inspire a the team towards the play offs.

Reading Team News:

Ivar Ingimarsson will again be ‘rested’ with Zurab Khizanishvili starting alongside Matt Mills at the back. Brian McDermott is unlikely to make too many changes to the side that won so convincingly at Palace on Wednesday, with Simon Church again set to lead the line.

Player to watch: Simon Church

A few games ago I was saying the same thing about Shane Long, now its Church’s turn! The striker hasn’t scored enough goals this season but with 3 in his last 2 games, he is really hitting some form. However he needs to do it on a more consistant basis and another goal at Bloomfield Road would do him the world of good as he looks to establish himself as the Royals first choice striker.

Last Meeting

Saturday 21st November 2009, Royals 2-1 Blackpool

Ref Watch:

Mr C Pawson takes charge of the game

Match Prediction:

We are certainly the form team in the division but this will be a tough game. Blackpool are an excellent side, especially at home and a point would be a good result especially if it was an exciting game. 2-2

Next Fixture:

Wednesday 24th February 2010, West Brom (A) FA Cup 5th round replay

Going to be a tough game but we kept Adam quiet at the Mad Stad earlier in the season and there is a new found confidence under McD
