Any regular viewer to the football league show, or even just a goals round up on Sky Sports News, will be aware of the current poor state of the Bloomfield Road pitch and Blackpool manager Ian Holloway is worried it could cost his side in the promotion push.

The Royals travel to Lancashire this weekend on the back of four wins on the spin, but the superb passing football we saw on Wednesday may be shelved this Saturday. The poor weather condititions have meant the pitch has had to be covered constantly and the lack of light is a major problem.

The Tangerine’s manager told BBC Radio Lancashire, ‘When you put covers on the pitch for days and days it is going to damage the grass, so we need more lighting. I don’t know how much it costs but I don’t want financial restrictions to affect us.’

Reading will be hoping that they can capatilise on Holloway’s worries and don’t be surprised to see big Grzegorz Rasiak involved on Saturday, with long ball a more realistic option to our usual champagne football!!
