With the Thai takeover close to completion, it appears we are now looking at a few potential striker targets.

The two names that have been mentioned today are Simon Cox and Glenn Murray, with The Sun reporting today that we submitted a bid for the latter, but was rejected. The Daily Mirror reported that we have bid for our former striker Cox, who is current at Forest.

Murray has only recently recovered from a bad knee injury, which ruled him out of the majority of the Premier League season. Many Palace fans site him as a key force in their promotion two seasons ago, where he scored an outstanding 30 goals in 42 games for the Eagles.

Cox has been at Swindon, West Brom and Forest since he left us in 2009, but could make a return to his boyhood club. The bid for him is believed to be around the £600k mark and with Forest wiling to listen to offers for the forward, he could well be a good target for Adkins.

Strikers has to be the priority at the moment, considering HRK is out for a little while and Alfie left in the summer. Murray would be the ideal replacement for Le Fondre, while Cox would offer us something different as a number ten – I wouldn’t say no to the both of them.
