It appeared yesterday that Simon Cox would be Madejski-bound, now it has emerged that one of his teammates could be joining him.

That player in question is Scotland international Jamie Mackie, another Forest player that Stuart Pearce is willing to let go this summer. However, according to the Nottingham Post, the Mackie transfer would be a loan deal, while the Cox deal would be a permanent transfer.

Forest boss Pearce also revealed yesterday that Cox was talking to an unnamed club, which is believed to be us, with interest also from Sheffield Wednesday. A deal for both players could though hinge on Forest getting our former winger Michail Antonio from Wednesday.

Presuming talks were successful with Cox last night, a deal could hopefully be announced in the coming days. The progress of the Mackie deal is unknown, but would be another astute signing, considering the current lack of depth in our squad and his experience at this level.
