Reading have confirmed that winger Jimmy Kebe has had an operation on his injured knee.

The 28-year old Malian has had previous troubles with his knee that kept him out in February and March time for the Royals. Kebe missed the final two games of the season against Crystal Palace and Birmingham, where he was having the surgery completed in Sweden.

Another player on the long-term injury list is Jem Karacan, who suffered a broken ankle against Leeds in April. The Turkish midfielder has already had numerous operations on his ankle and has now had the cast removed and is currently wearing a protective boot.

Both players are widely expected to be fit this pre-season. Striker Nicholas Bignall is also a long-term absentee but is staying at Reading to complete his rehabilitation. There are no other injuries concerns in the squad at this moment in time.
