Reading chasing Norwich defender?

Reading are chasing Norwich defender Zak Whitbread, according to the Daily Mail.

The 28-year old will be a free agent at the end of the season and the Royals are keen to snap him up on a free when his contract ends. However, there will be competition for the former Liverpool defender, with Wigan and Southampton also interested.

Royals boss Brian McDermott is keen to add options to his defence, only having two recognised centre halfs in the squad at the moment. The American defender has played 18 games for the Canaries this season, but has recently lost his place to Ryan Bennett.
