Reading will begin their new Premier League campaign at home against Stoke City on Saturday 18th August.

Brian McDermott’s side have returned to the Premier League after a four-year absence, after beating Southampton and West Ham to the Championship title. The last time both Reading and Stoke met was in the League Cup back in 2008, when the Royals lost on penalties despite a James Henry brace.

It will be the Potters’ first visit to the Madejksi Stadium since April 2006 when the Royals won the game 3-1, thanks to goals from Steve Sidwell, Kevin Doyle and Jon Halls. Reading will finish the season away at fellow-promoted side West Ham United on Sunday 19th May at Upton Park.
