Reading chasing Malian striker

Reading are interested in the services of Sochaux striker Modibo Maïga, according to the Daily Mail.

The 24-year old has impressed at the French club since joining in 2010, scoring 24 goals in 59 games. Fellow Premier League sides West Ham and Stoke are also keen on Maiga, who has been attracting interest from all across Europe. He is also very capable on playing on the wing, where he played early on in his career.

Sochaux rate the Malian international at around £6 million, who was reportedly close to joining Newcastle last year. However, Royals boss Brian McDermott is keen to pursue his first-choice target in Damen N’Doye, who is keen on a move to the Premier League. Huddersfield striker Jordan Rhodes could also be on McDermott’s wanted list.
