The Reading reserves had a good outing against Swindon Supermarine, as they cruised to a 3-0 victory on Tuesday evening.

Development coach Chris Cummins took charge of the side, with the majority of the coaching staff in Slovenia with the first team squad.

Royals striker Brett Williams opened the scoring from the penalty spot after a handball by a Marine player to give the Royals a 1-0 lead at the break.

Then trialist Michael Caine made it 2-0 to Reading on 67 minutes before former Swindon Supermarine loanee David Murphy struck a fantastic strike two minutes before the end to seal a cruising victory for the Royals.

The line-up included experienced names such as Brett Williams, Canadian international Ethan Gage and Lawson D`Ath, who had a fantastic 2010/11 season for the reserves, with the attacking midfielder getting into double figures.

In other news, the Royals have made squad number changes for the coming season, with Alex Pearce taking Matt Mills` vacant number 5 shirt and with England U21 international Alex McCarthy moving to number 12, departed by Dave Mooney.
