Vital Reading season preview

Club: Norwich Cty

Founded: 1902

Nickname: The Canaries

Ground: Carrow Road (Capacity: 27,244)

When we face off: Sat 29th November (A), Sun 28th December (H)

Last season finish: 18th – Premier League (relegated)

Manager: Neil Adams – The former Norwich academy coach was promoted to first team manager after Chris Hughton’s sacking last season and despite not keeping the Canaries in the Premier League, has been chosen to take them forward on a longer contract. Adams has no previous managerial experience, but his work done at youth level is highly credible, which was one of the reasons the Norwich board chose him to take them forward.

Key player: Nathan Redmond – In a division which is witnessing more sides playing a counter-attacking style, the England under 21 international fits the bill ideally for that. Redmond struggled to impose himself fully on the Premier League, so maybe a full season in the Championship will be very beneficial for him – his frightening pace and dribbling abilities will cause problems for many full backs this season.

Season Preview: Despite Premier League relegation last season, Norwich will highly fancy their chances of bouncing back at the first attempt. Not only have they kept the large core of their squad together, they have also made some great additions in Lewis Grabban and Gary O’Neil. Norwich have plenty of options in every position and if the new players click in well, should be in contention to win the division.
