Reading manager Brian McDermott has publicly criticised Leicester City’s transfer policy and their attempts to bring winger Jimmy Kebe to the King Power Stadium.

Leicester City’s advisor Tord Grip publicly revealed some of the Foxes deadline day transfer targets, with the Malian winger being one of them.

McDermott told the Reading Chronicle: ‘I might put something on Sky Sports saying we’re trying to buy three or four of Leicester’s players. We choose to do things differently at Reading.’

The Reading boss has a firm policy of keeping his cards close to his chest, as the Adam Le Fondre deal proved with McDermott saying their was no interest in him, days before the deal went through.

McDermott has accused Leicester of unsettling Kebe, who has one year left on his current deal. ‘I think they were linked with about 10 players on Wednesday alone. It was ridiculous.’

‘Whatever Leicester do is up to them. To be honest, I’m not really bothered how Leicester conduct their business. But if we wanted to do that sort of thing there is nothing stopping us either.’
