Reading could see some of their squad players leave over the next few weeks, with the loan window opening on Thursday next week.

Two players that have stated their desire for first team football are Brian Howard and Marcus Williams. Both haven’t started in the league yet this season with Williams not even making the squad.

Howard has been linked with his former side Barnsley while Portsmouth are believed to be interested in the England Youth international.

Williams was shipped out on loan twice last season, firstly to Peterborough then to his former side Scunthorpe. Also with the arrival of Joseph Mills, he is further down the pecking order.

Other players we could see depart are Jake Taylor, who had a short loan spell at Aldershot last month. Jordan Obita and Lawson D’Ath could also both get some experience lower down the leagues, with them on the verge of breaking to the first team.

Brett Williams is currently on loan at Rotherham, where he was selected on the bench for the Millers against rivals Swindon Town.
