Vital Reading takes a look at the opposition’s key man, ahead of this afternoon’s game against Ipswich Town.

The 26-year old suffered a bad injury last season, but had a surprisingly quick recovery and was fit enough to play a part from the bench against Fulham last week, where he scored the second goal. However, he will be pushing to start against us today.

McGoldrick was one of the inform strikers in the league last year, before his injury, scoring 16 goals in 34 games. At 26, he is coming into his prime and will finally want to prove his goal scoring exploits, after failing to make an impact at his previous club.

I’m sure he will be giving Hector and Pearce a tough time today, whether it be from the start or from the bench. The physical presence of Murphy will also prove a test for both players and will give indications about Hector’s ability to be a replacement for Morrison.
