Reading winger has signed a two-year contract extension, which will keep him at the club until 2014. This deal has swiped away any speculation of the Malian leaving, despite reports claiming he keen to move away from the Madejski Stadium.

The Reading board have been keen to reiterate that the terms of the contract were identical to the original contract offered a few weeks ago. However, the ambition of takeover group TSI would have been a compounding factor for the winger to put pen-to-paper.

Royals boss Brian McDermott has been desperate to keep the 27-year old in the window and said: ‘He believes in what we are trying to do here and he obviously feels Reading is the right club for him and that I am the right manager for him. I’m delighted that Jimmy has decided to sign a new deal with us.’

The former Lens player has had a recurring knee problem of late, which meant he missed the 1-0 loss to Hull on Saturday but he should be fit for this weekends game against Bristol City. Kebe has scored 22 times in 90 games for Brian McDermott.
