Reading defender Sean Morrison has joined League One side Huddersfield Town on a loan deal until the end of the season, with Brian McDermott keen for him to get first-team experience in the lower leagues.

The 6’5 centre back joined the Terriers on loan last season but failed to make a single experience in his one month tenure, mainly due to the form of Jamie McCombe and Peter Clarke. He is also yet to make a first team start for his parent club Reading.

Morrison, 21, signed from Swindon in January 2011 after the Royals triggered the £250k release clause in his contract. He made 50 appearances for the Robins, scoring an impressive five goals in the process.

This loan move could trigger a possible incoming centre half to the Madejski Stadium, especially as Bongani Khumalo is set to return to Tottenham in the next week. The mystery man is believed to be Brentford man Karleigh Osbourne who has been linked with the Royals over the past few weeks.
