Four first team players have been called up to represent their respective countries, in a series of international friendlies coming up next week.

The Welsh duo of Hal Robson-Kanu and Chris Gunter are set to start against the Republic of Ireland at the Cardiff City stadium on Wednesday and could come up against a familiar face. Right back Stephen Kelly has been called up by Trapattoni and could feature.

Summer signing from Hoffenheim, Danny Williams, has been called up by the United States for their friendly with Bosnia & Herzegovina on Wednesday 14th August. It is believed that Jurgen Klinsmann is a big fan of the midfielder, who will want to make an impression, ahead of next year’s World Cup in Brazil.

It is unknown whether Alex McCarthy will be selected in the England squad to face Scotland, despite starting the opening game of the season for the Royals. Joe Hart will definitely be called up by Roy Hodgson, while Ben Foster and John Ruddy will be heavily considered.
