Reading don’t need to be worried about relegation, according to midfielder James Harper, as they have uncovered the next Thierry Henry.
Harps, who may well have been drinking at the time, has revealed he sees a lot of the Barcelona man in the new Reading signing Jimmy Kebe.
He told the Reading Evening Post, ‘Jimmy is a bit like Thierry Henry as he is lightening quick, elegant and tall. He certainly looks alright’.
Stephen Hunt pitched in, ‘Jimmy looked promising when he came on.
‘I haven’t seen much of him to be honest, but it was a nice introduction away at Everton.
‘I only saw him in training for the first time on Friday because I was away on international duty with Ireland.
‘He looks positive and is very fast, but John Oster played well in the position too.’
Kebe almost made an immediate impact as a substitute ten minutes from time at Goodison Park on Saturday, but he was denied by a last gasp block from match winner Phil Jagielka.
With Harper seeing Kebe as a potential world beater and myself touting fellow new signing Marek Matejovsky as the next Pavel Nedved, there might be hope for the struggling Royals yet.

If he’s half as good as thierry henry, I’d like to think he would get a start ahead of john oster against villa!
come on reading, you are a good club, pull your knickers up and start taking some points. It would be sad if dross like Bolton stays up and you go down. Best wishes from a Gooner.
Cheers mate, a win at the Emirates should put us in good stead to stay up…
I like the way they piched in with ” Oh but Oster plays well there too”!!!!

Deal! I’ll speak to Steve Coppell, you give Mr Wenger a call…
