Former Reading midfielder Jay Tabb is looking forward to his Royals reunion, with current side Ipswich Town.

The 29-year old joined the Championship side on a permanent deal this summer, after his contract with Reading was not extended. Both sides are set to face off at the Madejski Stadium in the opening game of the season on Saturday 3rd August and Tabb is looking forward to the occasion.

Quoted by the Reading Post, Tabb said: “I knew I would be back at some point, I just didn`t expect it to be this early. But I`m looking forward to it already, it will be a great game. It`s going to be fun. I had four great years at Reading and had a great rapport with the fans, I`m looking forward to seeing them all again.’

‘Obviously it`s going to be a difficult game for us. It probably would have been nicer to have a home match to start with but we`ll have to go there and try and get something. I really enjoyed playing for Reading. I haven`t got a bad word to say about my time there. I got a Championship winners medal, had Premier League experience.’

I’m sure that every Reading fan will give him a great reception when he returns, he certainly deserves one after his time here. I would love to have seen him stay here, but I’m glad he is getting regular football in the latter stages of his career.
