Finance expert Chris Brady has given all Reading fans a word of warning following the proposed takeover of the club by TSI, claiming they should be ‘cautiously optimistic’ with the deal.

It has been confirmed that Thames Sports Investments are owned by 29-year old billionaire Anton Zingarevich, who are purchasing a 51% stake in the club for £20 million subject to diligence and usual procedures.

Brady told BBC Berkshire: ‘The father of Anton – Boris – is the real money guy.Anton is only 29 and is using his father’s money. I know Boris has been sniffing around English football for about the last seven or eight years and made one tentative bid for a Premier League club a few years ago.’

‘Reading is very well run and very prudently run but they have a few problems. They only have a 25,000 seater stadium, it is not a large stadium. This is a great Championship club, which is a very good investment for somebody who loves football.’

Following the potential takeover, rumours have fluctuated around several websites with several incomings for the Royals. Brian McDermott met with Zingarevich and his representatives in Milan last week and discussed a suitable budget for this window.
