The official squads for all competing nations at this summers World Cup have all been confirmed and on Thursday the squad numbers were given out. Whilst the nation was gripped with who would get the England number 1 shirt, we were more concerned with who would get the Aussie’s number 1 shirt.

Unfortunatly it didn’t go to the Royals Adam Federici, who took the number 12 shirt, but instead to Fulham’s Mark Schwarzer. That was no real surprise as he has long been the Australia number 1 but Fed’s can still look forward to the tournament with optimism.

The number 12 shirt suggest’s he is the second choice keeper, ahead of Middlesbrough’s Brad Jones.

The Aussie’s are in action on Saturday for their final pre tournament friendly and will face England’s group opponent’s USA.
