A number of the under 21 squad have traveled with the first team squad to the Midlands for a week’s training camp.

The youth players travelling are the very promising Craig Tanner and Aaron Kuhl, along with Aaron Tshibola, who signed a new deal last week. Joining them are also returning loanee Ryan Edwards, Pierce Sweeney, Jack Stacey, Jake Cooper, Sean Long and Shane Griffin.

One player who didn’t travel was Royston Drenthe, with his future being cleared up with the article here. Jem Karacan did travel, but will not join in with full training just yet, while the club confirmed that Garath McCleary is still suffering with a recurring back problem.

Adkins always promised he would use youth when possible and he is showing early signs of doing just that next season. I’m sure the likes of Tanner and Kuhl will get game time in first team friendlies, while any new signings are on hold, until after the takeover.
