With none of the current lot likely to make much of an impact on the final 10 in the final month of the noughties, its time to vote for your Vital Reading player of the decade. The chosen 10 are below, decide your favourite and don’t forget to vote!

Marcus Hahnemann

American keeper initially joined the Royals on loan under Alan Pardew and had such an impact that he was signed permanently and became the number 1 keeper during our championship winning year and Premiership years.



Graeme Murty

Captained the 2005/2006 Championship winning, and Premiership, teams.



Ivar Ingimarsson

Steve Coppell’s first signing and the backbone of the defence ever since. Current club captain.



Kevin Doyle

Cost £80,000 and sold for £6.5million after a number of important goals including the equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Leicester that got us promoted.



James Harper

Signed in 2001 and was part of the Royals midfield right up to last summer, including a fantastic partnership with Steve Sidwell.



Steve Sidwell

The other part of that midfield partnership, his excellent performances for the Royals including that first Premiership season earnt him a move to Chelsea.



Nicky Forster

As a loan striker in the 2002/03 season he almost single handidly took us to the play offs.


Nicky Shorey

Another bargain signing, the left back went onto play for England whilst still at Reading.



Dave Kitson

Scored goals at Championship and Premiership level for the club. If it wasn’t for injuries he could have been another to play for England.



Jamie Cureton

Goals, Goals, Goals. Brentford – Enough said!
