Reading under 21s put in a fine display at the Madejski Stadium on Monday afternoon, as they beat Manchester City under 21s 3-0.

The line-up contained the experience of midfielder Jay Tabb, who captained the side and former Danish under 21 international Mikkel Andersen, who was in goal. The Royals took the lead in the opening minute, as good work from winger Ryan Edwards was finished off by forward Craig Tanner.

Chris Cummins’ side were soon 2-0 up minutes later, as midfielder Lawson D’Ath’s superb 20-yard strike gave the City keeper no chance. The best was to come, as Dominic Samuel added a third with a fine indiviual effort, dodging multiple challenges from City defenders and finishing superbly to put the game beyond doubt just half an hour in.
