Swindon have snapped up Reading striker Simon Cox, for an undisclosed fee.

The 20 year old had previously been on loan at the County Ground, scoring nine times in nineteen starts.

Cox has signed a two-and-a-half year deal with Swindon.

The former Academy player has struggled to make an impact at Reading, making just nine appearances as a substitute.

Meanwhile, Alex Pearce and James Henry have joined Championship side Norwich on loan. The pair had previously been on loan at League One side Bournemouth and will now be looking to make an impact at a higher level.

Other departures in the last few days are Simon Church, going on loan to Yeovil and Hal Robson-Kanu, who has joined Southend on loan.

There were no more signings for Reading, meaning Marek Matejovsky and Jimmy Kebe are the only new faces at the Madejski Stadium.

Coxy would have played Saturday as well if it wasn’t for some “money Grabbing” by certain parties!!! Oh well, your loss is the Robins gain..See ya in the Champioship

We shouldn’t have sold him. It worries me by the lack of faith the club has in the academy. Simon Cox was one of our most promising young players and we’ve let him go. I just hope Alex Pearce and James Henry don’t suffer the same fate.
