It’s the one we have all been waiting for, the FA Cup 4th Round trip to Stevenage.

Royals fans snapped up tickets for this one within 24 hours with many more expected in the home ends, as FA Cup fever is rife in Berkshire!

A full match preview is here….

Vital Quotes:

Midfielder Jem Karacan –

‘There`s a bit of a buzz again and we`re looking forward to going to Stevenage and putting in a good performance. We know it will be a tough game and the crowd will be on top of us, but we can`t wait.’

Brian McDermott –

‘We will be well-prepared, as they will be, we`re looking forward to it. We had such a good time in the competition last season that we want to try and do the same this season.’

Stevenage Team News:

Midfielder Stacy Long and striker Yemi Odubade are doubtful after missing the midweek win over Rotherham, whilst Darren Murphy and Joel Byrum are definitely out.

Byron Harrison is cup tied after playing in an earlier round for non league Carshalton.

Player to watch: Chris Day

Experienced, former Spurs and QPR, keeper Chris Day is the current stopper for the League Two side. He brings a wealth of experience to the football league new boys.

Reading Team News:

The Royals may have to do without in form defender Alex Pearce who is struggling with a knock picked up last weekend against Hull. Brian Howard is also a doubt after an injury he sustained in the reserve win over Crystal Palace.

Noel Hunt could return though and is likely to come straight into the side in place of Simon Church. However Mathieu Manset, Brett Williams and Sean Morrison are all cup tied.

Player to watch: Jem Karacan

Is having an outstanding season and has formed an excellent partnership in the middle of midfield with Mikele Leigertwood. Will be looking to continue the Royals cup run as far as possible.

Last Meeting

The two sides have never played each other, adding to the excitement of this game. The Royals have an unbeaten record at Broadhall Way!

Match Prediction:

I’m going to go for a narrow Royals win, 2-1, with Noel Hunt grabbing a late winner.

Next Fixture:

Tuesday 1st February 2011, Cardiff (A)
