Reading have won the LMA Performance of the Week award, following their outstanding 4-2 victory over West Ham on Saturday.

The Hammers took the lead is this game and were on top for the first 40 minutes, before a re-vitalised Reading team scored two goals in two minutes to take the lead at half time. Ian Harte established a two-goal advantage before Vaz Te reduced the deficit. However, Mikele Leigertwood reinstated the two-goal cushion with five minutes remaining.

The award was decided by the League Managers Assocation board, which consists of Howard Wilkinson, Dave Bassett, Barry Fry, Joe Royle and Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson. All were in agreement of Reading getting his award for their momentous victory.

The victory now extends the gap between second and West Ham in third to four points with six games left of the season to play. Reading manager Brian McDermott will be presented with the award this Saturday on Sky Sports Soccer Special, which is set to air at 12 p.m.
