Royals vs Citeh

Reading look to continue their impressive run of one win in their last game as they host an out of form Manchester City.

The Royals broke their horrific run of eight straight defeats as they battered Middlesbrough 1-0 at the Riverside on Saturday.

Now with City missing a couple of key players, the Royals will see this as a perfect opportunity to drag themselves out of the relegation zone and possibly reach the dizzy heights of 13th.

Vital Quotes:

Sir Steve after the Royals finally won a game;

‘I hope now we are back on track but we need confirmation of that with a good performance on Saturday.

‘With ten games to go we know what we’ve got to do. Now we have to mount a consistent run of form and link wins together, make sure we’re in this division next season.’

Reading Team News:

Emerse Fae misses out due to having malaria.

Bryn Gunnarsson is still injured and Michael Duberry and Graeme Murty may not be fit enough to return.

Player to watch: Dave Kitson

Kitson hasn’t been in form recently and was dropped for the game at Boro. He should be recalled to the starting line up and will have something to prove.

Man City Team News:

Elano has been cleared to play.

Micah Richards is injured and Martin Petrov is suspended.

Player to watch: Elano

If the Brazilian is 100% fit he will be a big thorn in Reading’s side.

Match Facts & Stats

Reading are in terrific form after winning their last game.

City have won just one of their last seven league games.

Reading did the double over City last season, but City could do the double over the Royals this term, having won the reverse fixture 2-1.

Ref Watch:

Uriah Rennie (Sheffield, Yorkshire)

Oh dear…

Match Prediction:

If Reading can get a win they could go as high as 13th, with Newcastle away at Liverpool.

City are missing some key players and after a dip in form this could be the best time to play them.

My prediciton: Reading 2 City 0

Next Fixtures:

Liverpool (a) 15/03/08

Birmingham (h) 22/03/08
