Reading target Tom Rogic has opted to sign for Scottish side Celtic, instead of moving to Berkshire.

It was openly admitted by Brian McDermott that a contract offer was on the table for the Australian midfielder, but the decision was down to the player and he has decided to move to the SPL. Fellow Premier League sides Fulham and QPR were also keen on Rogic, who has impressed at Australian side Central Coast Mariners.

The Royals attempted to sign the 20-year old last year, but he failed to earn a work permit to finalise his move. If we are going to bring in another centre midfielder, it has to be one with Premier League experience. I’m pleased with the signings of Carrico and Akpan, but don’t know this league as well as others.
