Reading will play League of Ireland side Bray Wanderers in a friendly this coming Sunday.

With the Royals not playing in the Premier League this weekend, McDermott saw this as a perfect opportunity to get his players some crucial game time before their game with Tottenham two weeks later. The Royals boss is likely to field his strongest line-up, minus any players that will be on international duty.

Young defender Pierce Sweeney signed from the Irish side last month and a possible friendly fixture was a gentleman’s agreement in the deal. The 17-year old is likely to play some part in the game. The game at the Carlisle Grounds is set to kick off at 4pm.
