Royals boss Brian McDermott has said he does not plan to bring in any more players in, as we approach deadline day tomorrow.

On the whole, the former Slough boss has had a very successful transfer window without spending a vast amount of money. Five of his seven senior players have been brought in on a free transfer, with a combined amount of £5 million spent on Chris Gunter and Adrian Mariappa. Despite links with another striker, McDermott has dismissed any immediate incomings.

Speaking to the Official Reading FC website, McDermott commented by saying: ‘I don’t think we’ll be doing anything. We’ve signed seven senior players and two younger players which is right up there with everyone in this League. You never say never but I don’t think so.’

In terms of players leaving the team, Simon Church is likely to make a loan move away. He added: ‘It’s possible, but that would be a loan so it can go beyond Friday. We’ve got five strikers plus young Dominic Samuel. Robbo is coming back, and there aren’t many teams who go with five strikers, I need to give Churchy some games.’
