Welsh international Simon Church is continued to be linked with a move away from the Madejski Stadium in the next few weeks. Championship sides Leeds United and Huddersfield are two interested parties, but Reading are not keen to let Church go until he signs a new deal at the club.

Defender Shaun Cummings who made his Premier League debut at the weekend, has spoken of his delight to receive the accolade. The 23-year old has also said he hopes to relight the partnership between himself and the returning Jimmy Kebe on the right-hand side in the upcoming campaign.

Reading’s under 21 side fell to a disappointing 4-2 defeat at the hands of Blackburn on Friday afternoon, at Hogwood. Four goals in the first half from the visitors sent them well on their way to victory, despite late reply’s from Simon Church and Aaron Tshibola in the second period.

However, there were good results for the Reading womens and under 18 sides. RFC Women were 3-1 victors over Tottenham yesterday, while the ever-improving under 18 side beat Blackburn 3-1 in Lancashire.
