Unfortunately the keeper in question is not Alex McCarthy, instead it is out-of-contract Stuart Taylor.

The 32-year old signed on a one-year deal at the start of the campaign and despite making just four appearances for the Royals, is locked in discussions over extending his contract at the Madejski Stadium.

I can imagine Taylor would act as back-up to either Adam Federici or Alex McCarthy, I can see one of them leaving this summer. Taylor has provides very capable back-up, after some fairly decent performances between the sticks this season.

The other players that are currently in talks over new deals are midfielder Lawson D’Ath, defenders Nick Arnold, Shane Griffin, Matt Partridge and highly-rated goalkeeper Jonathan Henly.
