On the whole, despite the season being a bit of a mess, the performances of Hal Robson-Kanu has been one of the positives.

The Welsh international became a regular starter under new boss Nigel Adkins and impressed in the tail end of the season, having a decent scoring ratio. There have been several media sources linking the 24-year old with a move away from the Madejski Stadium, but HRK has firmly committed himself to the club.

Speaking to the Reading Post about his impressive debut season, Robson-Kanu said: “It`s a fantastic achievement and one that I`m thankful to the fans for – for acknowledging my contribution. I`ve consistently said that if I`m given the opportunity I`ll show everyone what I can do. And that`s what I`m giving now and I will continue to do that.’

‘So I`d say my aim is just a continuation of the form I`ve had this season and to take it further and be better next year. Having come through the ranks at Reading, it was a big moment in my career. It was a time when I felt I had really arrived in the game.”

Despite having a decent run of games at the end of the season, I still don’t think that Hal is ready for regular Premier League football. At 24, he is still very young for a winger and another season in the Championship will suggest whether he is good enough for the big time.
