Royals international call-ups

A round-up of all the Reading players that have been called up for international duty.

Defender Chris Gunter and forward Hal Robson-Kanu have earned their usual Wales call ups, as they prepare to face Iceland in a friendly next week. They will obviously came up against former Reading midfielder Gylfi Sigurddson – good luck Gunter!

On the Republic of Ireland front, right back Stephen Kelly has once again been called up, while their is also a place for fellow defender Alex Pearce, who is yet to recieve a cap from new Ireland manager Martin O’Neill. They are facing Serbia next Wednesday.

The young defensive duo of Pierce Sweeney and Shane Griffin have also earned call-ups to the Ireland under 21 squad for their UEFA Championship qualifiers, being noticed for their good showings in the Reading under 21 side. Best of lucks lads!
