Reading were believed that have enquired about the services of Stephen Warnock, but it seems like it has been in been in vein.
It was reported last night that the Leeds captain and left-back was in talks with another Championship club, with the identity unknown. However, a Sky Sports journalist revealed earlier that the two teams battling it out were ourselves and promotion-chasing Derby County.

However, it has since been reported that he is having a medical at Derby today, thwarting any interest the Royals had in him. Along with a striker, a left-back seems high on the shopping list this month, with Jure Travner still believed to be on trial with the first team.
This would have been a good signing for us and a similar one to Ian Harte a few years ago – adding experience to a relatively young defence. There are still plenty of other options out there though, so I’m sure Clarke will have another target lined up before the deadline.
