As expected, Shaun Cummings has completed his permanent transfer to fellow Championship side, Millwall.

The 25-year old moved to the New Den for an undisclosed fee, but considering his contract ran out at the end of the season, it would have been minimal. He has signed a two-and-half year deal and reunites with former coach Nigel Gibbs, who is first new coach at Millwall.

Cummings was our longest serving player if you don’t count the academy lads, after being signed by Brendan Rodgers in 2009. He struggled to find a regular place in his five-and-a-half year tenure, but was an integral part of the Championship winning team in 2012.

Although he wasn’t going to get past Chris Gunter, who is in good form at the moment, I would much rather have let Kelly go, but I suppose Shaun deserves it more though. I can’t blame him for wanting to seek first team football and he will hopefully get it at Millwall.

Probably one of the best one-on-one defenders we have had, you would very rarely see him get beaten. Who can also forget his right wing performance at Cardiff in the play-offs back in 2011? He had some great memories, maybe not enough, but best of luck to him!
