Young Reading defender Michael Hector could be leaving the Royals on loan in the new few weeks, to an unnamed League One side.

The 19-year old is gaining a reputation as a fantastic, young prospect and Royals boss Brian McDermott is keen for Hector to get more first-team experience in the Football League. AFC Wimbledon manager Terry Brown has publicly admitted his interest in the former Millwall loanee, but may admit defeat following interest from League One sides.

The Dons witnessed a clinical performance from Reading, as they ran out 7-0 winners at the Kingsmeadow Stadium on Saturday. Speaking to the Hounslow Chronicle, Terry Brown admitted: “If I could loan him tomorrow I would, but he might be going to a League One side. If that falls through we might be able to get him.’

Hector spent last season’s campaign on loan at League Two side Barnet, where he impressed many with his composed performances. This led to the East-Ham born player being given an extended professional deal at the Madejski Stadium, with reports that West Ham and Norwich were keen to pounce if any opportunity was to arise.
