Royals confirm first signing

I’m afraid its not a major signing, but have completed a deal to sign young forward Andrija Novakovich.

Despite his name indicating his Serbian decent, he has spent the majority of his career in the United States, where he was spotted by Royals scouts. Novakovich has played for the US at youth level, for the under 17s and 20s, where he recently scored two goals in a friendly.

Luckily enough, he has family very near the area, making his move more convenient. Standing at 6’3 and only being 18, his obvious strength is his towering height and physicality – but let’s be careful not to presume that he is necessarily good in the air though!

Hopefully the lad will fit straight in and feel at home, with a very good academy set up here. I doubt he will make any bearing on the first team for the upcoming season, but you never know! With the current financial issues, youth may need to be given a chance at some point.
