Reading are considering making a second offer for Millwall skipper Paul Robinson, after the first offer was rejected, which the Reading Post revealed to be around the £700k mark.

Kenny Jackett is keen to keep hold of his captain, who is an experienced member of his squad. Despite the two clubs being in talks for a number of days, the Lions would consider something closer to around £1m.

Whether Robinson would consider a move to the Madejski stadium remains doubtful as he stated on his twitter: ‘just to put your minds at rest I’m very proud to captain millwall’.

However, if the Royals fail in their pursuit of Robinson, they could turn their attentions to QPR defender Kasper Gorkss.

The 29-year old defender was a solid figure in their Championship winning season last year but has found it harder to get into the team this term.

It is believed the Latvian international will be available for around £900k, with the only possible hitch being he could be used in a potential deal with Southampton’s Jason Puncheon, who looks QPR bound.
