Reunion for gaffer in the cup draw

It wasn’t the most glamorous draw for us, but Nigel Adkins will be returning to his old stomping ground at Scunthorpe.

The draw for the second round of the Capital One Cup was made last night and while we were hoping for a local tie against Oxford or Swindon, we got a 400-mile round trip to Glanford Park – not ideal!

It is due to the take place on either Tuesday 26th or Wednesday 27th August, most likely the Tuesday night, kicking off at 7.45pm. Hopefully a few Royals can make the long trip up the M1.

It will see our manager Nigel Adkins return to club where he made the dramatic rise from physio to manager, overseeing two promotions in four seasons with the Iron – hence why he is highly though of there.
