Sky Sports published an article on their website earlier today that shows how the table will look come the end of the season, according to the popular PC game Football Manager.

With eight games left to go of the season, Reading sit one place and one point off the drop zone with some daunting fixtures ahead. However, according to the results of the simulation in the game, made by company Sports Interactive, Reading will have a very strong end to the season and survive very comfortably.

The results see the Royals finish in 18th position, picking up a staggering fourteen points between now and the end of the season, finishing fourteen points clear of 22nd place side Rotherham.

Football Manager have it that the sides in the bottom three now, will indeed be the three sides who eventually get relegated from the Championship, but I have to question the accuracy of the simulation, as I cannot see us picking up fourteen points between now and the end of the season.

The simulation suggests in the last eight games, Reading will pick up at least four wins in that time. A very bold suggestion given our run in, but anything to give us hope, and I will certainly take it!
