Reading have made a move in this months tranfer market by signing young Southampton player Joesph Mills on a one-year contract.

The younger brother of former player Matt, he can play left-back or left-midfield and was at our home game against Barnsley and trained with his new team-mates this morning.

The 21-year old came through the ranks at Southampton and made 26 appearances for the Saints in a three-year tenure.

After failing to get into the team, he had loan spells at Scunthorpe in 2009 and most recently Doncaster Rovers last season where he made 16 appearances and scored 2 goals.

The Swindon-born player has England international youth experience and the club have the option to extend his one-year deal by another year.

He has one honour to his name, that being the Johnston’s Paint trophy which he won with Southampton in 2010, gaining many plaudits for his performance.

The fee has been decided to be left undisclosed.
