Reading FC have completed the signing of Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker on loan until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old started the season on loan at fellow Championship side Leeds United, but his season-long loan at the Yorkshire club was cut short due to Chelsea being unhappy with his lack of appearances so far this season.

Baker becomes the Royals second signing of the January transfer window after Liverpool youngster Ovie Ejaria signed on loan for the rest of the season earlier in the week. Both players are now involved in first team training and could even feature in this weekends league meeting with Nottingham Forest at the Madejski.

Both of the signings made by Jose Gomes so far are promising moves. Both youngsters are highly rated, and although they play in similar positions, puts emphasis on the type of player the new manager wants at the club and solidifies his philosophy of wanting to play attacking football. I look forward to seeing what they both bring to the team.
