Reading have still maintained their interest in Cork City striker Graham Cummins, after helping the Leesiders to the Irish League title.

He has been valued around £100k by his club and could potentially follow a similar route to Kevin Doyle and Shane Long who were both bought from Cork. They now find themselves playing Premier League football.

He told the Irish Independent: ‘During the summer, when the speculation was first spoken of, my head was mixed up for three or four weeks. I didn’t score for three games, which is a bit of drought for me.

But for the last series of games I got my head in the right place. I signed a new deal recently for a reason. I didn’t just sign to then leave. But what will be, will be. I’ve no control over it.’

The Royals have shown previous interest in Cummins with Brian McDermott’s Irish links. The 23-year old has scored an outstanding 42 goals in 64 games for Cork.
