Reading Loan Deals on the Horizon?

With the transfer window firmly shut, loan deal rumours are flying around like Apache`s over Baghdad. Reading were linked with bringing Freddy Adu to the club just a month ago and now there comes word of players leaving the Madejski Stadium, some truer then others?

Graham Stack has joined Leeds United until January. Reading`s number two keeper played against Southend on Saturday keeping a clean sheet and making an important save. Now rumours in today`s Mirror (among other papers) have linked summer signing Sam Sodje with a move to the club too.

Sodje would join team-mate Stack at Elland Road under new boss Dennis Wise. Wise and assistant Gus Poyet attended Wednesday nights Carling Cup loss to Liverpool, observing Stack and Sodje who played the last ten minutes.

However Sodje has only started one game this season, the away defeat to Wigan and has since been injured. It is unclear what manager Steve Coppell`s plans are for the player; and the rumours are still yet to be proved true.

Meanwhile Ipswich Town have expressed an interest in utility player John Halls according to the Reading Evening Post.

Halls, who has started a single league game and played in a handful of cup fixtures since joining the Royals in last January`s transfer window, could join the Tractor Boys immediately if Ipswich boss Jim Magilton has his way.

Magilton was looking to take the player before the Liverpool Carling Cup game but Coppell decided to halt any deals until after the game:

“Ipswich did contact me recently asking about John Halls. If they come back to me we`ll discuss the possibility of a loan move.”

The Evening Post also featured that 19year old winger, Jonathan Hayes, could join Chesterfield on loan.

The player has been training with the Spireites and is yet to make a decision on whethere or not to join the club short term.
But Coppell hinted that the move may not be in the players bet interest:

“Johnny has gone up there and he is seeing if he likes it.

“Although it would be nice for him to get some league games under his belt, the Premier Reserve League is probably of more value as it duplicates what we`re looking for and is of a very good standard.”

Finally, out of favour John Oster is hoping to move away from the club on a short term basis with a view to leave permanently.

The Welsh winger has rarely featured in this season`s Premier League action, finding himself third in line for a spot on the right behind Korean international Seol Ki-Hyeon and Glenn Little. The Evening Post reports that Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has been keeping a keen eye on the situation.

But recent good performances Liverpool and Portsmouth could merit a comeback to the starting squad for the player.
