Reading have red card overturned

Look away now Keith Hill – Alex Pearce’s red card against Sheffield Wednesday has been rescinded by the FA.

The central defender was sent off against Wednesday on the weekend, being adjudged to have fouled Benik Afobe in the area and be the last man. However, a panel at the Football Association made the decision that the referee, Keith Hill, had made an error.

This means that Pearce will now be available for this Sunday’s game against QPR. It would have been good to see Hector in action, but despite fans saying otherwise, I think I would rather have Pearce’s experience in for this one over Hector.
