Premier League side Stoke City have joined in the race for sought-after Reading winger Jimmy Kebe, with interest still remaining high from Championship rivals West Ham and Leicester.
However, Reading have offered the Malian a third and final contract with a policy of ‘take it or leave it’. Kebe rejected a contract last month but has recently been offered a new two-and-half year deal by the club.
Reading boss Brian McDermott has already revealed that the club have turned down an offer for the pacy winger. This offer is believed to be from West Ham for around £750k but McDermott is keen to keep Kebe at the Madejski Stadium.
The 27-year old was not involved in last Saturday’s game against Stevenage with an injury problem, despite others claiming otherwise.
If Kebe was to leave the Royals, McDermott could turn back his interests to Northampton’s Michael Jacobs, who McDermott has been a long-term admirer of. The Reading boss was knocked down in a bid for the young winger last summer.
