The agent of Reading striker Pavel Pogrebnyak has said his client will analyse his options come the end of the season.

The 29-year old joined Reading on a free transfer in the summer, but having being embroilled in a relegation battle, has reportedly been keen to leave the Madejski Stadium. The Russian news soruce Izvestia believe that if Reading were to be relegated, the strikers contract will be mutually terminated.

Pog’s agent Oleg Artemov, was quoted by Sky Sports as saying: ‘We’re not trying to draw any conclusions yet. Reading have a good chance of avoiding relegation, so now we need to focus exclusively on the team’s performance. As for other issues, we’ll discuss them at the end of the season.’

Even if we did stay up, it still wouldn’t surprise me if Pog went back to Russia, as he really hasn’t hit the heights since joining last year. I admire his effort and commitment on the pitch, but if we were to go down, I think there would be better options for a much better financial package, if Pog is on the reported £65,000-a-week.
