Pavel Pogrebnyak has played European football for the majority of his career, but said he will be happy with Championship football next season.

The Russian international signed a four-year contract last summer, but his future has been thrown into doubt following relegation from the Premier League. However, Pogrebnyak has said he is wiling to stay and see out his current contract, even if it is playing Championship football.

Quoted by Sky Sports, Pogrebnyak said: ‘So far I don’t know anything about my future. It’d be great to stay in England. I’ve a four-year long contract with Reading so how could I say I don’t want to play here? If it happens like this then I’ll play in the Championship. We’ll talk about my future with Anton Zingarevich in the near future.’

Tim Dellor said a very similar thing on the radio last week and it can only be seen as good news that he will stay. Pog seems to be enjoying his football much more under Adkins, but isn’t having the luck infront of goal. People can talk about wages all they want, but is only reportedly on £35,000-a-week, which is certainly manageable.
